Great Northern, one of the newest golf courses in Denmark and the first by Nicklaus Design, is also one of the country's best and most challenging layouts. Built with top level tournament play in mind, this big dimension parkland course exudes an open and linksy character, albeit with plenty of water hazards in the mix.
As with most Nicklaus designs, an abundance of stylish bunkering threatens should you stray too far from the invitingly wide fairways and good-sized putting surfaces. But it's probably the water hazards that will get your full attention. They come in the form of large fairway hugging ponds (at 5, 6 and 18), meandering streams (at 16), fronting greens (at the par-3 9th and 17th), cascading past the green (at 15), or creating an island green (at the very demanding par-5 18).
Especially from the higher elevations of the west side of the course, you'll enjoy many panoramic vistas out onto the Great Belt Strait, a channel that divides the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. Straddling the strait are the impressive structures of the "Great Belt Bridge". The layout's lower sections are where you'll find most of the wetland features and intimidating water hazards.

Great Northern is owned by members of the Christiansen family, who also own one of the world's biggest toy companies ... Lego. The word "lego" comes from the Danish "leg godt", meaning "play well" ... equally applicable to one's golf.
The nearby and historic city of Odense is the birthplace of Denmark's best known author Hans Christian Andersen. A prolific writer of plays, novels, poems and travelogues, he is best remembered for his fairy tales, which include: The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Match Girl, The Little Mermaid, The Nightingale, The Snow Queen, Thumbelina, The Ugly Duckling and many others.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
