Leckford (Old)
Leckford Golf Courses: Leckford's famed nine-hole Old course was designed by the peerless Harry Colt, and has changed little since it was first laid out in 1929. Sixty years later it was joined by the nine-hole New course, designed by Donald Steel. Although tempting to think in terms of an 18-hole layout, the two courses are very contrasting in style, and typically "billed" as two separate courses of nine holes each.
The Leckford estate and the golf courses are owned by the John Lewis Partnership, and operated primarily for the use of the company's Partners (employees), their families and guests. Outside visitor play is restricted to golf societies of eight players or more.
Private club - golf societies of eight or more players can apply for a weekday society package. No pay&play option for outside visitors.

Leckford Estate was purchased by John Spedan Lewis (founder of the John Lewis Partnership) in 1929 and remained his home throughout his life. The estate has been farmed for over 87 years and, as the Waitrose Farm, produces excellent quality food, working in harmony with the environment. At the company's nearby Longstock Park facility, customers and visitors are welcome at the Longstock Nursery, Farm Shop, Cafe and famous Water Gardens.
The name Waitrose comes from a small grocery business founded in 1904 by Wallace Waite, Arthur Rose and David Taylor. The name was adopted in 1908, after David Taylor left the business. Waitrose was bought by the John Lewis Partnership in 1937, at a time when it operated ten grocery stores in and around London.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
