The Creek

Private course - for members and their invited guests only.
   The Creek Est. 1923

Where2Golf says:

The Creek is one of the most private and exclusive golf clubs within striking distance of New York City. When conceived in the early 1920s, it acquired the title "The Million Dollar Club," due to the considerable wealth of its very influential and esteemed membership. In golf circles The Creek is revered as the home of a wonderful Charles Blair Macdonald designed course, which stretches from "modest" tree-lined beginnings in Locust Valley northward to the open linksy spaces and sandy shoreline of Long Island Sound.

With many geometrically shaped greens and bunkers along the way, this classic Macdonald layout turns at the 10th, with a short par-4 running parallel to Creek Beach. Your first "homeward" hole is the fabulous par-3 11th. It is played to not just an island-green, but a "Biarritz" island-green, where the respective plateaus of the back and front portions of the green are separated but a prodigious swale running between them. Other favourite Macdonald touches, such as "Eden" and "Redan" greens are also included here at the very private Creek Club.
