Golden Valley Golf Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.

Where2Golf says:

Golden Valley Golf Club: Just to the east of the town of Nishiwaki, and only 1.5 km apart, you'll find two excellent and publicly accessible championship golf courses. Golden Valley and Pine Lake were both designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, and both have hosted Japanese Tour events.

Golden Valley, like Pine Lake, occupies a wonderfully natural forested environment. The two nine-hole loops provide memorable out-and-back journeys into tree-lined valleys. Pristine woodland climbs the hills on either side of each pair of holes ... one heading out and one back.

The layout also features several small ponds and rocky streams, as well as two small lakes, ensuring water is a more frequent and intimidating threat. As such Golden Valley weighs-in as the sterner test of the two neighbours.
