Where2Golf says:

Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links: when it comes to the fine array of golf courses around Ocean City, Rum Pointe tops the list for many local and visiting golfers. Here Pete and P.B. Dye have crafted an open, links-style course that delivers everything you would hope for in a classic Pete Dye design. Threatening water hazards, sprawling bunkers, stylish crafting around the large undulating greens, and occasional railway ties (sleepers) are all included. This excellently presented, classy layout sits directly alongside Sinepuxent Bay, offering fabulous views from most holes.

There's plenty of space at Rum Pointe to allow confident ball-striking from the tee. Beyond the good-width fairways lie grassy mounds and stylish bunkering. But the biggest threat comes from several hole-lining ponds, both large and small. These abundant water hazards are never more attractive and dangerous than at the resplendent par-4 9th and 18th holes. Closing out the front and back-nines, this elegant duo journey back on either side of a small lake to the attractive elevated clubhouse. Your problems or prowess on these closing holes will be closely scrutinised from the clubhouse terrace.

The opening trio on the back-nine takes you into the only wooded stretch of the course. For the rest, it's open links all the way, although the frequent presence of water minimises the need for penal fescue covered dunes. With constant and captivating bay views, and two directly shoreside holes on each nine-hole loop, Rum Pointe offers a quiet, natural and immensely scenic round.

For a great golfing day out, locals will tell you to book an early morning round at Rum Pointe to catch the sunrise over Sinepuxent Bay, then go next door to Ocean City Golf Club and play the eponymous Newport Bay course, from which you can enjoy a bayside sunset.
