Brookmans Park Golf Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.

Where2Golf says:

Brookmans Park Golf Club: The first tee at Brookmans Park gives you a good look across several of the holes on this enjoyable, Hertfordshire golf course. But don't be fooled into thinking everything here is open parkland and easy-going. Each hole has its own charm, with some heavily tree-lined, others more open, and water occasionally in play.

The layout's pleasant undulations are matched by an impressive array of trees lining many fairways; two splendid cedars stand sentinel either side of the 18th green. The par-3 11th provides a wonderfully challenging tee shot, across water onto an elevated green, with deep bunkering awaiting anything hit too short. Each hole at Brookmans Park has been carefully crafted and is neither crowded by too many trees nor by other holes. Quintessential English parkland golf at its most agreeable.
