Camberley Heath Golf Club

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1913

Camberley Heath Golf Club: In the early 1900s, Camberley Heath was one of the most celebrated courses in the rich golfing domain that was established to the west of London. Nowadays more illustrious names have stolen some of the limelight, but Camberley Heath remains a thoroughly enjoyable and testing layout.

Harry Colt's masterful touch is clearly evident in the design of this pleasantly undulating, wooded heathland course. The gently dog-legging, downhill par-4 opener is a good scene setter, with tall Scots pines and a couple of strategically positioned bunkers lining the fairway, and another two well positioned bunkers either side of the not overly large green. Several short par-4s should set-up the chance to record a respectable score, providing you are not too wayward with your tee shots.

With generally good maintenance standards throughout, this picturesque woodland course is a delight to play. The predominantly tranquil wooded heathland environment provides an excellent backdrop to proceedings; perhaps the drone of M3 motorway traffic may be in earshot on a few holes.
