Hampton Court Palace Golf Club

3-star: a good golf course with many fine features.
Hampton Court Palace Golf Club Est. 1895

Where2Golf says:

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club: The course, set in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, is quite flat and the impression is often of an inland links - with rough to match. Some parts of the course are however a little more tree-lined, and for a hole or two you get a good look at the Palace itself, and a very short glimpse of the River Thames. The back-9 is stronger than the front, which is something new owners (American Golf (UK) Ltd) may reflect on, as well as raising the overall standard of upkeep and presentation, which is needed. In time we can see this course moving up the ratings as investment monies bear fruit. For the moment, the course is a good test and provides a pleasant and quiet environment for a round of golf. Several small herds of deer add to the on-course sights-to-see.

The Welcombe Hotel Spa & Golf Club: provides an excellent Stay & Play opportunity, just a mile out of town from William Shakespear's birthplace in the centre of Stratford. Royal Ostend Golf Club: represents Belgium’s only real "beside-the-seaside" links golf course (others like Royal Zoute are located a little way inland). Here at Ostend many holes make excellent use of an impressive area of sand dunes. Koksijde Golf ter Hille Golf Club: on what was previously open farmland, an enjoyable and challenging links-style layout has been crafted. Perhaps the inspiration for Koksijde's new course came from a renowned Harry Colt layout that existed in the 1920s just a couple of kilometres to the west. Read more...
