The Astbury Golf Course

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.
The Astbury Golf Course Est. 2010

Where2Golf says:

The Astbury golf course is located in the grounds of stately Astbury Hall, now owned by former Judas Priest rock guitarist K.K. Downing. Within the estate's 300 acres of rolling hills, Downing set about crafting his first golf course design, which continues to gather many admirers. Among them is Open Champion and Ryder Cup legend Darren Clarke, now the club's touring professional.

Tucked away in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, The Astbury presents a tactical mix of strategically placed bunkering and manicured playing surfaces. The layout offers excellent challenges to golfers of all skill levels, including greens built to USGA specifications, subtly contoured to provide top-quality putting surfaces. Throughout you will be faced with many challenging shots; none more so than the 18th hole, a testing par-3 stretching 200 yards from the back tees.
