Streamsong Resort (Black course) Est. 2017

Where2Golf says:

Streamsong Resort (Black course): slated to open in the autumn of 2017, the new Black course at Streamsong has been designed by Gil Hanse. This prestigious resort is already home to two renowned golf courses, the Red (designed by Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw) and Blue (Tom Doak).

Whereas the Red and Blue are intertwined, the newcomer will occupy a separate plot on a southeastern portion of this huge property, which once served as a phosphate mine. Streamsong Black will have an overall linksy character, with panoramic views, rolling sand-based terrain, and plenty of hollows and ridges.

Stay & Play at Streamsong Resort: Luxury on-site accommodation is available in the Lodge and Clubhouse (see Where2Stay section below).

Did you know?

The Streamsong Resort was developed by the long-time owners of the land, The Mosaic Company, the largest U.S. producer of potash and phosphate fertiliser. The golf courses are built on the site of a former Mosaic phosphate strip mine. | The course names (Red and Blue) at Streamsong were apparently chosen based on the colour of the ink used by the designers when drawing the respective course routings on the same map.

Tournaments:
Walker Cup: The USA scored a convincing 15.5-10.5 win over their GB&I opponents in the 47th Walker Cup at Royal Liverpool. The USA amateurs won all but two of the Sunday singles matches.
Solheim Cup:  can Europe’s top women professional golfers fair better at Gleneagles than they did in their 2017 Solheim Cup encounter with the USA. (Sept 13-15).
