Where2Golf says:

Golf Club de Nîmes Campagne: Located between Languedoc and Provence, the wonderful golf course here at Nîmes Campagne was built in the late 1960s. It is laid out in the grounds of a palatial chateau, which was commissioned in 1897 by Georges Arnaud, an admirer of the United States. The stately mansion was modelled on a certain Presidential palace in Washington DC, and named la Maison Blanche (the White House). Few golf club's can boast such an impressive clubhouse building.

What both clubhouse and golf course have in common is an impressively solid design, combined with many touches of elegance and beauty. This gently undulating parkland course is defined by its lush, carpet-like fairways, excellent greens, top quality presentation and neat rows of trees that separate the fairways. Beyond the course lies open rural farmland.

All the holes present their own difficulty and character. Amongst the most memorable, two par-3s stand out - the downhill 7th and blind uphill 14th. If you are in the area or just passing through, make sure you take the opportunity to play one of the classic parkland courses in the south of France. There's also the chance to enjoy lunch in the White House, where you might even meet the President (of the club!).
