Golf Intl Barrière La Baule (Red course): With the town of La Baule often referred to as "Paris-by-the-Sea", it is no surprise that the Red course at La Baule Golf Club was designed to make the many visiting Parisiennes feel comfortably at home. This graceful parkland layout, with its gentle undulations, feels at the outset like one of the excellent parkland layouts that adorn the capital city itself. After five holes however, the scene changes to a more open and modern layout, where water, big greens, serious bunkering and fairway-side real estate are more evident. But don't despair, at the par-4 14th its back to classic parkland, with the closing duo at 17 and 18 providing a terrific grandstand finish, where water is the big challenge. An excellent course throughout, and one that will definitely not disappoint (likewise the fare on offer in the splendid clubhouse).

Undulating terrain - a few slopes to climb.
 
Surroundings: Woodland and residential.
 
Designer: Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas (with a major revision by Michel Gayon which inserted new holes from the 5th to the 13th).

How2Get There?

70 km NW of Nantes
From N165 (E60) take exit La Baule and follow D765 direction La Baule. After 4.5 km turn right onto D574 and then D774 direction La Baule. After 17.3 km turn left onto D247 direction St Andre-des-Eaux. After 1.5 km Golf is on your left.

Green Fees:
2015 visitor fee, 18-holes in high season (April thru' mid-June and mid-Sept thru' Oct): weekdays €62; weekends €69. Reduced 9-hole, junior and student rates. [Contact club for full details, discounts, packages, etc]. Credit cards accepted.
