Where2Golf says:

Royal Mougins Golf Club: You'll quickly realise that Royal Mougins is going to provide a testing and exciting golf outing. In character with several other Von Hagge designs, Royal Mougins places a high premium on precision from the tee, and an often hefty penalty if you are wayward. From the challengingly tight opening par-4 and dramatically plunging par-3 second (a hugely memorable hole) keeping the ball in play is key.

This well-maintained and stylishly bunkered course is separated into sections by a quiet local road and light railway, which run north-south through the course. Although split into sections, the flow of the course is held together by von Hagge's well-crafted but testing layout. The rolling, undulating fairways are often quite tight, with considerable bunkering and mounding running alongside. The green surrounds are busily attended by mounding, bunkering, water hazards and run-off areas. You'll need to avoid several small ponds, not least as you approach the huge and heavily bunker-defended double-green at 3 and 18.

The more open parts of the course will demand as much from your golfing skills as the more wooded and tree-lined sections. The re-opening of the Grasse-Cannes light railway, which runs through part of the course, does not detract from this very fine and always challenging von Hagge layout.
