The Masters Tournament (72nd) (April 10-13). Second-placed Tiger Woods (USA) finished 3 shots behind wire-to-wire winner Immelman (RSA), who recorded his first major championship victory. [Augusta National GC, Augusta, GA].

The US Open (108th) (June 12-15). Woods (USA) beat Rocco Mediate (USA) at the 91st hole. Tied at one-under-par after the regulation 72 holes, both carded level-par 71s in an 18-hole Monday playoff. Woods subsequently won at the first sudden-death playoff hole to claim his third US Open and 14th major championship title. [South course, Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA].

The US PGA Championship (90th) (Aug 7-10). Second-placed Sergio García (Esp) and Ben Curtis (USA) finished 2 shots behind Harrington (Ire), who won his third major championship in his last six attempts. Harrington became the first European since 1930 to win the US PGA crown, and the first European to win back-to-back Majors. [South course, Oakland Hills CC, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan].

The Open Championship (137th) (July 17-20). Second-placed Ian Poulter (Eng) finished 4 shots behind defending champion Harrington (Ire). [Royal Birkdale GC, Southport, Merseyside].
The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
