DLF Golf & Country Club Est. 1999

Where2Golf says:

DLF Golf & Country Club: In 1999 this private club was launched with an 18-hole championship course designed by Arnold Palmer. Another member of the last great golfing triumvirate, Gary Player, reworked nine of Palmer's holes, while adding nine new holes. DLF now boasts an 18-hole Gary Player-designed course, complemented by nine holes from the original Palmer layout.

On the Gary Player course, two large lakes come into play, ensuring a testing finishing stretch on the front-nine, and a long and seriously intimidating par-5 18th. There's also an island-green to tackle at the par-3 5th, and some tight drives to make from several tees ... although generally not as tight as on the original Palmer course.

Rolling fairways, craggy rock formations, former quarry sites, and large undulating greens all play their part on this eclectic parkland layout. High-faced revetted style bunkers are also much in evidence, along with railway-sleepered bunkers from the Pete Dye design book. Whereas the eastern portion of the course looks out onto a large expanse of woodland, the western side is looked down on by a wall of towering apartment buildings.
