Where2Golf says:

Carne Golf Links (also known as Belmullet and home course of the Belmullet Golf Club) is another in Ireland's inspiring panoply of world-class links golf courses. Located in the far north-west of Ireland on the Mullet peninsula, the course lies right up alongside the Atlantic Ocean. The splendour of this natural setting and the quality and challenge of the course ensure a golf experience to savour.

In this wild and ancient landscape you will play through Carne's impressive sand dunes, with frequent views over the ocean and out to Blacksod Bay and the legendary islands of Inis Gloire and Inis Geighe. This is Ireland at its natural best, with an impressive links golf course to match. For the intrepid travelling golfer, Belmullet provides a handsome return for the not insignificant drive to get here.

Did you know?

The Carne Golf Links is home to the Belmullet Golf Club. In 1992 the Belmullett GC moved from its 9-hole links at Cross Binghamstown to the spectacular new 18-hole (now 27-hole complex) at Carne Golf Links, the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett. Carne Links, created to attract tourism to this isolated and stunningly beautiful part of western Ireland, is owned and operated by a community-run company called Turasoireacht Iorrais Teoranta.
