Where2Golf says:

Ring of Kerry Golf Club: Greeting you from just about every hole at this immensely scenic golf course are wonderful views onto Kenmare Bay (aka Kenmare Harbour). This sizeable lough, with its many islands within, is stunningly framed by Caha mountains beyond - compelling County Kerry scenery.

Leaving aside all the spectacular vistas, the golf course itself will demand your full golfing attention. At times resembling a "mountain style" layout, many holes lay down quite a challenge ... especially if your ball-striking from the tee is apt to wander. Rugged, hilly and requiring an inventive design to get the best out of the sometimes "difficult" terrain, your first challenge will be to hit the relatively tight strips of fairway. Go too far offline and a combination of deep rough, gorse bushes and water hazards all lie in wait, particularly on the front-nine.

The emergence of a limited amount of residential housing, some quite close to the fairways, occasionally detracts from the out-of-the-way wilderness of the course. But as you progress up to the higher elevations, especially at the par-5 at 4th and 5th holes), there's nothing can detract from the stunning scenery that makes the Ring of Kerry so special.
