Waterford Golf Club

3-star: Good course – an enjoyable test for your game.

Est. 1912

Waterford Golf Club: This attractive parkland layout is located on a hill overlooking the historic town of Waterford. The front-nine places a premium on accuracy from the tee, while the back-nine is perhaps a little more forgiving.

The solid closing stretch culminates in a classic finishing hole, played from an elevated tee on the highest part of the course. Once you've taken in the wonderful views, you drive downhill onto a narrow fairway, with gorse bushes left and right.

The course is renowned for the quality of its greens, which will give your putting a good examination, although lower handicap players may be left wanting a longer and more challenging test for their overall game.

Did you know?

It was perhaps somewhat prophetic that Oliver Cromwell's invading soldiers named the hill which rises above the bridge and bay of Waterford, Mount Misery. Little did they know that many years later this stretch of land would be transformed into a golf course.
