Where2Golf says:

Arzaga Golf Club is found alongside a beautiful and historic manor house, now the Palazzo Arzaga Hotel Spa & Golf Resort. The Palazzo itself may date from the 15th century, but the excellent 27 championship holes of Arzaga Golf Club were introduced more recently in 1998.

The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus II course, is a wonderful piece of modern golf architecture. As open, linksy and challenging a championship course as you will find anywhere in Italy. The two nine-hole loops of Nicklaus II are complemented by a third nine. This slightly more tree-lined loop of holes is named after its designer, the great Gary Player.

The good-width fairways and generous band of grassy rough on Nicklaus II will please big hitters, but care needs to be taken not to stray too far offline. In true Nicklaus style, plenty of excellent bunkering, good-sized lakes and (in this open, linksy setting) long wispy rough will need to be avoided en route to the large and undulating greens. Although much of the course occupies relatively flat terrain, a ridge separates the opening and closing holes from the middle section of each nine. Some enjoyable elevation changes are present on your way out and back from the clubhouse.

From most parts of this big-dimension, handsomely crafted layout, you look onto beautiful Lombardian countryside. Laid out before you is a tapestry of vineyards and villages, climbing their way to the impressive pre-Alps in the distance. As an amateur golfer or tour professional, you'll feel equally challenged and rewarded whichever of the three top-quality nine-hole loops you elect to play.

Did you know?

The sumptuous Palazzo Arzaga was originally constructed in the 15th century along with its beautiful frescoes that echo the style of the famous Guido Reni. During this time it was used as a monastery. Its later development into a rural palazzo (palace) came in the 1800s. The origin of the name is linked to Ariciagus (Arzaga), an ancient hill town now immersed in chestnut trees. | Arzaga GC has already established its excellent golf credentials as a host venue to the European Senior Tour. For more details see Top Golf Tournaments at Arzaga Golf Club.

Golfer's Comment
One of the first and lasting impressions of the Arzaga project is the picturesque countryside, with its gentle rolling terrain tucked at the foothills of the Alps. The layout winds around several areas of native vegetation and a series of lakes that both complement the beauty of this property and create challenges for the golfer. The dawn and dusk shadowing of this course are spectacular. Designer : Jack Nicklaus II.
