Where2Golf says:

Royal Park Golf "I Roveri" (Pramerica course): Located just north of Turin, in the grounds of La Mandria Regional Park, is Royal Park "I Roveri", home to a much admired Robert Trent Jones Sr layout dating from 1971. The club also boasts a more recent arrival, the Pramerica course (named after its sponsor, a subsidiary of Prudential, the American financial giant).

The new Pramerica course bears the signature of a renowned modern course designer, Dr Michael Hurdzan. Of equal length to the club's original Trent Jones Sr course, the Pramerica also lays down an excellent golfing challenge. The parkland layout uses ponds and bunkering as the principle hazards, with one small stream coming into play on three holes. Extensive tree planting further defines the holes, along with soft mounding and native grasses edging the holes.

The design brief for the Pramerica course was not to match the more mature Trent Jones Sr course, but rather to complement it with subtle design variations. The landing areas from the tee are often tighter than on its sibling, especially for big hitters.

Did you know?

Located in the expansive and ancient hunting grounds of Parco La Mandria ("park of the herd"), you will find two almost adjoining golf clubs: Royal Park Golf "I Roveri" and Circolo Golf Torino (Turin Golf Club). The two layouts of Royal Park (the Trent Jones Sr and Pramerica courses) are located just to the south of Torino Golf Club's two courses (the Blue and Yellow). | Royal Park I Roveri ("the oaks") includes a full array of country club facilities, including conference centre, fitness centre, swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, kids club and (naturally enough) a first-class restaurant. | The championship golf courses at Royal Park are separately designed by two renowned names in golf course architecture. The "Old" course was laid out by the peerless Robert Trent Jones Sr, while the club's newer layout was designed by Michael Hurdzan and his partner Dana Fry, regarded among the elite of more recent American designers.
