Karen Country Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.
   Karen Country Club Est. 1937

Where2Golf says:

Karen Country Club occupies a special place in the heart of Kenyan golfers. The course was built on part of a former coffee plantation bequeathed by Baroness Karen Blixen, whose 'Out of Africa' memoirs were stunningly depicted in the film of the same name. Course description, images and other details about this club to follow soon.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

This iconic Kenyan golf course was laid out in 1937 on a former coffee plantation donated by Baroness Karen Von Blixen. In that same year the Danish baroness, author and plantation owner published her memoirs in the book Out of Africa. The book was adapted in 1985 into what became a hugely successful film starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, with a memorable soundtrack written by veteran English composer John Barry.
