Els Club Desaru Coast (Valley course)

4+ (4 gold): one of our top-rated 4-star courses, worthy of 4½ stars.
Els Club Desaru Coast (Valley course) Est. 2017

Where2Golf says:

Els Club Desaru Coast is home to two top-class championship courses, the Ernie Els designed 27-hole Ocean course and the Vijay Singh designed 18-hole Valley course. The Valley course is largely a new design. The Ocean course, comprising the Lakes, Coast and Ridge nines, involved a very substantial redesign of the former Desaru Golf & Country Resort layout, with two holes still bringing you directly oceanside.

The Ocean and Valley courses each have their own modern purpose-built clubhouses, as well as shuttles to and from the resort hotels (opening in phases from 2018). With easy access either from Johor Bahru (by road) or Singapore (by ferry), the Els Club Desaru Coast is a golfing experience not to be missed. Course description, images and other details to follow soon.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Tournaments:
Walker Cup: The USA scored a convincing 15.5-10.5 win over their GB&I opponents in the 47th Walker Cup at Royal Liverpool. The USA amateurs won all but two of the Sunday singles matches.
Solheim Cup:  can Europe’s top women professional golfers fair better at Gleneagles than they did in their 2017 Solheim Cup encounter with the USA. (Sept 13-15).
Who's Who:
Brian Barnes:  one of the most colourful Scottish golfers of the modern era sadly passed away. Few others can boast two matchplay wins against Jack Nicklaus … on the same day!
Steve Stricker:  three-time Ryder Cup player and 12-time PGA Tour winner, defends his PGA Tour Champions, Sanford International title at Minnehaha CC (Sept 20-22).
