Where2Golf says:

Mountain View (formerly Kristal) Golf Resort: The Kristal Golf Resort closed in 2007 pending a possible redevelopment, which included a possible end to golf at this location. However, the resort subsequently reopened as the Mountain View Golf Resort (whether temporarily or permanently is not known by Where2Golf). CHECK WITH CLUB FOR CURRENT STATUS.

Original description ....... You will enjoy many fine views onto jungle-clad folding hills from Kristal's higher elevations, especially at the start and finish of the two nine-hole loops. The first couple of holes bring you down to a flatter section of the course, where earthmounding and a never-too-dense line of palm trees provide good definition to the well laid out holes.

The flatter sections on each nine allow the introduction of water hazards, which are more prevalent on the back-nine. Although water is less of a threat on the front-nine, beware the par-4 5th where a moat surrounds the island green. Several fairways appear tight from the tee, not least as you are being challenged through Kristal's Amen Corner - a testing stretch of holes, starting at the par-4 14th. This long, water-protected par-4 is followed by an even longer par-4, and then onto the challenging par-3 16th. This potentially troublesome threesome, all bring water dangerously into play, notably on the right side and across the fairways. The par-5 9th and 18th also demand some of your straightest hitting from tee-to-green. The 18th has a particularly unforgiving jungle-filled ravine running along its right side.

The greenkeeping here could be improved, with "cowgrass" fairways and semi-rough not doing much to enhance the course's quality feel. However, here at Kristal you can enjoy a pleasantly natural and scenic layout that will give all aspects of your game a thorough examination.

For an indefinite period all the world’s professional golf tours have been suspended as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ernie Elsthe “Big Easy” chalks up his first PGA Tour Champions win in just his third start on the Tour.
