Cabo del Sol (Desert course)

4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Est. 2002

Cabo del Sol is home to two top-quality 18-hole championship layouts, the generally higher-rated Cove Club course (formerly known as the Ocean course) and the also excellent Tom Weiskopf designed Desert course. Like its stablemate, the Desert course is also a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in Mexico.

The inland Desert layout takes full advantage of natural river washes, subtle changes in elevation and dramatic bunkering. From most holes you enjoy panoramic views over the "Bahía de las Ballenas" (Bay of the Whales) on the Sea of Cortés (Gulf of California). The layout doesn't however get you quite as close to the water's edge as Cabo del Sol's Cove Club course.
