Where2Golf says:

Golfclub Broekpolder: In this quiet, natural and unmistakably Dutch environment, you'd never guess you were so close to the bustling city of Rotterdam and the largest dock facilities in Europe (at Europoort). Broekpolder stands out as the flag-bearer for good quality golf in this area, where other contenders are in relatively short supply.

The pleasant front nine, with views over surrounding reed beds and extensive marshland, acclimatises you to the hallmarks of this layout: narrowish fairways, good bunkering, smallish greens and a generally excellent standard of upkeep. On the back-nine water comes dangerously into play at the tight par-4 11th, and then stays with you until the (slightly) uphill par-4 17th. Although the original landscape was about as flat as you can get in Holland, Broekpolder include some modest slopes, especially on the closing holes.

With plenty of water hazards in the mix, occasional dog-legging holes, and others tightly lined by good-sized trees, you have all the makings of an enjoyable and testing round - guaranteed to give your overall game a good workout. If the wind is blowing, which is not unusual here, then your workout could turn into something altogether more challenging.

Did you know?

Not unsurprisingly Broekpolder has adopted a frog ("kikker" in Dutch) as its club emblem - the surrounding reed beds are full of them, particularly audible in the summer months.

Broekpolder has hosted several top-level national events, not least the Ladies Dutch Open (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Broekpolder).
