Lake Placid Club (Mountain course)

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.
Lake Placid Club (Mountain course) Est. 1910

Where2Golf says:

The Lake Placid Club is home to two championship layouts, the Links and Mountain courses. Both are well-rated and popular courses. The Mountain course is a tree-lined parkland layout that should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. The course features breathtaking views of the Adirondacks, including New York's highest peaks, Mt Marcy and Mt Colden. The scenic spendour starts with the first hole located high atop a hill beside the new Adirondack-style clubhouse. A course to include on your play list if you are in the area.

Lake Placid's Mountain Course was laid out in 1910 by Alexander H. Findlay, often called the "Father of American Golf". Like Seymour Dunn, who designed the resort's Links course, Findlay immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland.
