Did you know?

In 1922 Willie Park Jr and his younger brother John designed most of Maidstone's West course (holes 4 thru' 15), utilising a spectacular 80-acre plot of beachside duneland acquired by the club on the Gardiner Peninsula. Earlier, in 1895, the brothers had laid out a course (much of today's East course), which John had constructed in 1899. The 1922 expansion resulted in the club having two 18-hole courses, but this was reduced to the current 27-hole layout by the hurricane of 1938.
