Situated directly on the shoreline of magnificent Lake George in the unspoiled Adirondack Mountains, the Sagamore opened in 1883. With luxurious and spacious accommodations and an idyllic lakeside setting, it attracted a wealthy and international clientele. After closing in 1981, the hotel was reopened a few years later and restored to its original grandeur. The Sagamore is a member of the Historic Hotels of America.
