Where2Golf says:

Lakes Resort - Pauanui: Nestling down in a bowl of forested hills, approx 5 kms in from the coast, this excellently designed, constructed and maintained new course is set to become a New Zealand favourite. A few of the early holes are lined by real estate, but that's how it will stay. The majority of the course is played away from the properties, sometimes alongside one of several small lakes, but best of all, parts of the back-nine meander through some very natural swamp-like wetlands - here the course is at its best. On one occasion, between the 4th and 5th holes, you'll take a boardwalk through an area of wetland, intriguingly lined by Maori carvings. The bunkering here is excellent, not least at the par-5 17th, let's just call it "bunker alley". The 14th is one of many attractive holes, a tight par-4 with swamp on either side. A picturesque characteristic of the course is the surrounding scenery, always wooded hills but constantly changing as your round progresses. Definitely a new resort course with a bright future - lakes and all !

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Koksijde Golf ter Hille Golf Club: on what was previously open farmland, an enjoyable and challenging links-style layout has been crafted. Perhaps the inspiration for Koksijde's new course came from a renowned Harry Colt layout that existed in the 1920s just a couple of kilometres to the west. Read more...
