Where2Golf says:

Siam Country Club Pattaya (Old course): Benefitting from a large amount of investment in 2007, the Old Course at Siam Country Club was catapulted into the top-league of golf courses in Thailand after a major refurbishment. What was always a pleasure to play is now a beautiful and immaculately maintained layout, with stunning bunkering as its main feature both along the fairways and around the greens.

The opening holes on each nine descend gently downhill from the stylishly refurbished clubhouse, quickly arriving at the lowest part of the course, before moving gently uphill again to the back of the layout. From there each nine again winds its way downhill then back uphill to the clubhouse. The lower middle section of the course is where you'll encounter the layout's only water hazard - a wide, often lily-covered creek that runs across the course, coming into play at the 2nd and 8th on the front-nine, and 15, 16 and 17 on the back-nine. The often dome-shaped greens, are accompanied by some seriously steep-run-offs, ensuring your short game is tested to the full.

Although several holes run parallel with each other, they are separated by a good width of semi-rough and a pleasant line of trees, some of the newer planting yet to reach full maturity. With no real estate in sight, and a pleasant mix of rural and wooded environments beyond the course, Siam Country Club has been transformed into one of Thailand's highest quality layouts, worthy of the top-level professional competitions it now attracts.
