44 miles NE of Inverness
From the A96 in Elgin, take the A941 direction Lossiemouth. After approx 4.5 miles, before Lossiemouth, turn left onto the B9135. After 2 miles, at T-junction, turn right into Stotfield Road (B9040). After 1 mile golf is on your left.
Moray
Moray Golf Club: Two excellent 18-hole golf courses can be enjoyed here at Moray Golf Club. Designed by Old Tom Morris over 100 years ago, Moray Old is a classic links layout, with plenty of deep revetted bunkers, undulating gorse-lined fairways and smooth fast greens.
On this out-and-back design, the tumbling and parallel 1st and 18th fairways lead you away from and eventually back to the solid-looking, elevated clubhouse (which dates from 1900). All facets of your game will be thoroughly tested here, with seven par fours over 400 yards and a variety of approach play required - either bump-and-run chip shots or high-flighted shots directly onto the green.
If your golf isn't on song, there are many wonderful sea views to distract you, especially as you play the more open and less gorse-lined closing stretch from the par-3 15th.
The par-69 Moray New course was converted from nine to eighteen holes in 1979, with the new layout designed by Sir Henry Cotton. It too is an excellent test of golf with many holes weaving their way through the Moray Old layout, and the start of the back-nine taking you alongside the Moray Firth's shoreline. Although not overly long at just over 6000 yards from the back tees, Moray New is characterised by tighter fairways and smaller greens, underlining Cotton's preference for precision golf versus power-hitting.
Don't be surprised if you are occasionally buzzed by fighter jets from neighbouring RAF Lossiemouth - the golf course is directly at the end of what can sometimes be a rather busy runway.

In the early years of Moray Golf Club, the membership included a number of distillers. These distiller members had been laying down whisky for many years, and in 1900 the club purchased one hogshead (54 Imperial gallons) of 1894 Glen Grant whisky, one of 1897 and two of 1900. This practice continues to the present day. Five or six hogsheads are bought annually and bottled for the club at ten years of age. In 1992 the "club malt" was changed from Glen Grant to Macallan.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
