Murrayshall House Hotel & Golf (Murrayshall course)

3-star: a good golf course with many fine features.
Murrayshall House Hotel & Golf (Murrayshall course) Est. 1981

Where2Golf says:

Murrayshall House Hotel & Golf, located just outside the ancient Scottish city of Perth, is home to the championship Murrayshall course, as well as the shorter par-68 Lynedoch course. The Murrayshall is a pleasant tree-lined and open parkland layout, with a manor house hotel onsite.

On the Murrayshall championship course the signature par-4 17th (Dog's Grave) is renowned for the large tree in the centre of the fairway just as the hole doglegs right. Most drives not reaching the tree can leave a difficult second shot under the canopy. Once you've negotiated the tree, the elevated green is protected by the surrounding trees and a burn running across the front of the green.

Stay & Play at Murrayshall: onsite accommodation available, see Where2Stay section below.

Did you know?

The original Murrayshall House was built in 1664 by Sir Andrew Murray, son of the First Lord of Balvaird, and brother of David Murray, the Second Lord of Balvaird. The direct descendants of this family are the Earls of Mansfield, who occupy Scone Palace near Perth to this day. Murrayshall House was modernised in the 18th century and again in 1864.
