On the eastern outskirts of Edinburgh, at the junction of the A1 and A720 (Edinburgh by-pass), follow the A1 direction Berwick-upon-Tweed. After 5 miles take the Bankton Junction exit, and follow the A198 direction North Berwick. Follow the A198 through Longniddry, Aberlady and Gullane. 1.5 miles further east from Gullane, turn left into Renaissance Club.
Renaissance, Scotland
The Renaissance Club: Joining a small but growing number of American-influenced (and owned) golf courses in the UK, the Renaissance Club is operated as a private facility, only accessible to its members and their guests. The membership, which is drawn from wealthy golfers spread around the globe, enjoy a top-quality championship course, masterfully sculpted by renowned American designer Tom Doak.
Located on the Archerfield estate, with the two Archerfield Links courses to its east, and mighty Muirfield on its west flank, the Renaissance layout was largely carved out of 300 acres of coastal pine forest. The resulting course flows through a rather mixed environment, with some tree-lined stretches interspersed with others that are distinctly more linksy, and which exude the classic characteristics of open duneland golf.
The natural-looking bunkering, firm fairways, classic linksy rough and some huge roller-coaster greens all combine to fully test your game. After a more inland front-six loop, the layout majestically pushes out towards the Firth of Forth at the par-5 7th, with a stretch of holes as good as any in Scotland, finishing at the par-5 13th. The wonderful short par-3 11th will undoubtedly become one of the most photographed holes on the Lothian coast.
Private club; generally guests may only play if hosted by a member. Renaissance Club also offers a One Time Experience programme, allowing non-members to apply for a one-off stay and play opportunity at Club.

American entrepreneur Jerry Savardi is the driving force behind the Renaissance Club and heads a consortium of owners whose goal is to develop the Club into the premier private club in Scotland. The majority of members are expected to come from overseas.
