Where2Golf says:

Warren Golf & Country Club: The thoroughly enjoyable and testing golf course at Warren G&CC is one of the most diverse and absorbing in Singapore. Located on a tributary of the large Kranji Reservoir this excellently presented and maintained layout embraces a few "riverside" holes, while others butt up against rural countryside, apartment blocks and the Kranji Expressway. On the course there are many stylishly bunkered holes, some played downhill from elevated tee-boxes, others played to elevated greens, while a few occupy flatter terrain. Variety is also found in the abundant flora, with many trees, shrubs and flowers contributing to the layout's parkland character, although the tree-line along the generally good-width fairways is never too dense. Beyond the fairways, clinging rough will usually allow you to find your ball, but advancing it to the hole will be a much tougher proposition. Around the fiercely sloping and contoured greens, a mass of clover-leaf and pot bunkers lie in wait to snaffle anything hit too short, long or wide, not least at the heavily defended par-3 16th. Water is a threat on several holes, with small lakes, ponds and a wide drainage canal all to be factored in somewhere along the way. The picturesquely framed signature par-3 14th requires a carry over water from tee-to-green, while the short par-4 6th requires one of the most knee-trembling approach shots with water looming large in front of the small, elevated green. With a constantly changing back-drop and every hole well-designed, Warren is always worth taking time-out to visit if you are in Singapore.

Did you know?

Warren G&CC was founded in 1960 by Brigadier-General Derek Warren, a commanding officer of the Signal Corps, as a watering hole-cum nine-hole golf course for British servicemen and their families. The club moved to its present site in 1999, with the original 9-holer in Folkestone Road now a public course, called Transview Golf & Country Club.
