[Original Where2Golf description]: Old Carolina Golf Club: this nine-hole layout appears to command a solid reputation with both local and visiting golfers, especially those looking to play a two-hour round on a pleasant nine-hole course. Did you know?

The modern-day town of Bluffton, which was originally part of a royal parcel of land awarded to Lord Colleton, has a rich, fascinating history. Located on a high bluff overlooking the May River, Bluffton was a pastoral country retreat for wealthy plantation owners in Savannah and Beaufort in the 19th century.

Over the years, the area became popular with hunters, who enjoyed the rustic splendour of the Lowcountry woods. Today, Bluffton has become an increasingly popular area to call home, extending the appeal of Hilton Head Island to the mainland, and extending the range of golf courses on offer.
