The Golf Guide to the Top Courses
Where2Golf says:

Originally one of the five Bear Trace courses designed by Jack Nicklaus for Tennessee State Parks, the layout at Ross Creek Landing benefits from a wonderfully natural setting. Roads and housing play no part in proceedings here, but an excellent golf course and many scenic views are much in evidence.

Generally recognised as one of Tennessee's top-quality golf courses, the layout roams its way across a wide expanse of pleasantly undulating open terrain, and occasional woodland. Throughout, the layout reflects the wonderful surrounding Tennessee countryside, with a distinctive change of scene coming as the course takes you over a small ridge after the par-4 10th.

Although there's a generally open feel here, you'll need to navigate your way past a plentiful array of hazards that Nicklaus has stylishly deployed. Small lakes and ponds, fairway-crossing wetland areas and abundant bunkering, all call for accurate driving and good approach work. Occasionally, small rock features and even garden-like flower beds are included in Ross Creek Landing's attractive mix. There's even a small airstrip running alongside the par-5 8th hole, but it's unlikely this will cause you even a moment's distraction.

This big-dimension, roaming golf course, provides a wonderful, and at times tightish test for your all-round game with many excellent holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.
