Where2Golf says:

Royal Hills Golf Resort & Spa: This well-crafted Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright design is laid out in a scenic mountain valley on the south side of the Khao Yai National Park. Contrary to the wishes of some golf course owners, this is not a frustrating, agonising layout. It combines both challenge and relaxation, without seeking to continually inflict penal outcomes on wayward shots.

Surrounded by jungle-clad hills, the course is laid out in two quiet and scenic nine-hole loops. A mix of long and short holes, straightaways and doglegs, meander through a lush valley that is criss-crossed by several streams. The good-width fairways look inviting from the tee, but placing the ball in advantageous areas is key to scoring well. Greens are generally small but receptive, with many allowing for a running approach.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

Royal Hills is located on the southern edge of the Khao Yai National Park, which was established in 1962 as Thailand's first national park. It is now the third largest national park in Thailand and home to around 300 resident and migratory birds and one of Thailand's largest populations of hornbills. Some common mammals include elephants, bears, gaurs, barking deers, otters, gibbons and macaques. There hasn't been any recent sign of tiger activity in the park, but cameras have revealed tiger populations in neighbouring Thap Lan and Pang Sida National Parks.
