At the second hole of his third round, Nick Faldo (Eng) removed a piece of coral from behind his ball in a bunker - not an issue under European Tour rules, but not allowed under Australasian Tour rules, which applied at this event. Faldo was only notified of his disqualification a day later at the 12th hole of the final round, when he held an unassailable six shot lead! [Bali National GC, South Kuta, Bali; at the time known as Bali G&CC].
