Where2Golf says:

Doha Golf Club: This is (currently) the only golf course in Qatar, but what's missing in quantity is more than compensated by the quality of Doha Golf Club. This terrific layout, combines the best characteristics of classic parkland golf, with nicely rolling fairways, occasional water hazards and splendid bunkering, all presented in an unmistakably desert environment. Palms, a variety of other modest-sized trees and on the back-nine, tall imported cacti, all provide good definition to the pleasantly undulating holes. There is more grass here than sand, at least on the slightly longer front-nine. The back-nine is sculpted from limestone quarries, giving rise to many memorable holes, which, like those on the front, are bordered by a generous amount of lush grassy semi-rough, before sandy wasteland comes into play. Finding your ball is not usually an issue, but playing from the hard-pan will require some adept shot-making. With par-5's opening and closing both the inward and outward nines, and four demanding, water-protected par-3's, this is a course that will challenge you from first to last, but also reward you with one of the best golfing experiences in the entire Middle East.

Did you know?

Doha was one of the first grass golf course built in the Middle East. As yet it has not been joined by other golf developments in Qatar, although building projects in Doha seem to be rivalling those of Dubai. | Doha's championship course has regularly hosted the European Tour's Qatar Masters (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Doha). | One of the best vantage points to view the course and the desert beyond is from the excellent clubhouse terrace.
