Approx 1.5 hours drive from Dubai. From Dubai follow the E311 Emirates Road for approx 90 kilometres to Ras Al Khaimah. Outside Ras Al Khaimah at first roundabout (at end of motorway) follow signs to Ras Al Khaimah / City Centre. After approx 7.5 km, at Clocktower roundabout, turn right onto the Khuzam Road, direction Khuzam. After approx 2.5 km at roundabout (just after the Ras Al Khaimah Hotel and Police Officers Club) turn right direction Palace. After 2 km make a u-turn and return o.5 km to golf club on your right. The distinctive clubhouse is a pale green colour, resembling a desert fort with a single turret watchtower.

Tower Links Golf Club

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 2003

Tower Links Golf Club: If you want a change from golfing under the gaze of Dubai's rapidly developing skyline, why not head out to the Tower Links at Ras Al Khaimah, and take in the wonderful scenery of the Hajar mountains.

The openness of much of this layout, with rippling fairways, deep bunkering and large roller-coaster greens certainly resonates with a links style layout. You will also find yourself golfing right alongside a vast mangrove swamp.

The combination of many swamp lined holes and others with large sandy waste areas will demand a good measure of accuracy from the tee, not least on the shorter, tighter and at times more technically demanding back-nine.

Among its many challenging holes, several swamp and water carries are required to reach the safety of either fairway or green. The second-shot carry over the mangroves at the par-4 9th is memorable, so too the water carry at the excellent par-5 18th.

A busy road separates three holes from the rest of the course and creates a bit of traffic noise on parts of the front nine. However, nothing should unduly interfere with your enjoyment of the mountain and mangrove scenery, and your golfing senses being fully immersed in this excellent golf course.

Excellent, with a floodlit driving range.

Did you know?

The back-nine of Tower Links is floodlit allowing nine holes of night time golf.

Ras Al Khaimah, the most northerly of UAE's seven emirates, has a distinctly different and less busy feel than Dubai, although a modest skyline is developing. Views of the Hajar mountains straddling UAE and Oman are terrific, especially in the late afternoon setting sun.
