Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 2014

Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point is a stunning recent addition to New York City's limited collection of well-rated public golf courses. High-end daily-fee golf around the United State's most populous city was previously restricted to out-of-town offerings, such as Harbor Links or the much revered Bethpage Park on Long Island. Despite the city's insatiable need for real estate, a former riverside landfill site in the Bronx has now become home to the best municipal golf course in the Big Apple. Bethpage now has a serious challenger on the city's "must play" list.

Operated by Trump Golf, this prestigious Jack Nicklaus Signature design exudes all the character and openness of a British or Irish links golf course. Sitting alongside the approach to the Bronx-Whitestone suspension bridge, the layout offers dramatic and spectacular views. The Manhattan skyline, the East River and the bridge itself are constantly in view, so too the Throgs Neck bridge further down the river to the east.

In this undulating treeless environment, you'll experience all the thrills of classic links golf (with city skyline panoramas rather than sea or ocean views beyond the course). 7,400 yards worth of pristine tees, fairways and greens are framed by rolling fescued mounds. Plenty of "bearded" bunkers of every imaginable shape and size line the way. Around the large roller-coaster greens your chip-and-run skills will be put to the test.

Trump Golf Links is the only tournament-quality course in New York City's five boroughs, which gives local and visiting golfers a unique alternative to the other daily-fee offerings in the area, all predominantly tree-lined parkland layouts. After a long and embattled history, this ambitious new layout is now a reality, and well worth a visit.
