The course: 18 holes. Tree-lined & open parkland.
Relatively flat terrain - easy to walk.
Surroundings: Predominantly woodland and wetland; both the Nicklaus and Palmer courses have bayside holes (Chesapeake Bay) and creekside holes (Old Plantation Creek).
Designer: A Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

Did you know?

The nearby town of Cape Charles, located close to the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, was founded in 1884 by railroad and ferry operators. For many years the town was home to the Little Creek-Cape Charles Ferry, which provided a passenger and car ferry service across the Bay to Norfolk and Hampton. The ferry service ceased to operate in 1963.

Bay Creek's vacation homes (generally available for two or more nights at a time) have been named, furnished and equipped by their owners. Many have decks or patios, grills, beach chairs and modern day comforts. The Fairways condos are 3-bedroom, 2-bath units, with garages and either a balcony or patio. The New Quarter carriage homes offer garages, spacious rooms with vaulted ceilings, backyards patios and second floor lofts.

The Bay Haven Inn is a historical bed and breakfast. The colonial revival home, built in 1906 by Norfolk architect James W. The American Express formerly known as the Desert Classic, and for many years played as the Bob Hope Desert Classic, will once again be decided on the Pete Dye designed Stadium course at PGA West (Jan 16-19).
The Players Championship:  for the 39th time, TPC Sawgrass, another iconic Pete Dye design, will host The Players Championship for one of the richest first prizes in world golf (March 12-15).
Who's Who: 
Pete Dye:  one of the greatest golf course architects of this or any generation passes away aged 94. His contribution to golf course design, and the legacy he leaves is immense.
Jack Nicklaus:  like Pete Dye a native of Ohio, actually started his golf course design career working together with Dye. In 1967 Dye asked Nicklaus to input to his design for The Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. Two years later they worked together on the revered Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
