In 2003, as an amateur, Miyazato won a professional event on the Japan LPGA Tour, prior to turning professional in 2004. The following season she won five times on the Japan LPGA Tour, and six events the following year. Miyazato won the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit in 2011, despite only playing two LET events that season. The substantial prize money from winning the Evian Masters, was enough to catapult her to the top of the European money list, where she stayed until the season closed.
