Golf course design

Montgomerie has designed several golf courses around the world that include, but are not limited to: Carton House, Montgomerie course (Ireland); The Dutch (NdL); Montgomerie (Dubai); Royal GC (Bahrain); Zhuhai Golden Gulf (China); Montgomerie Maxx Royal (Turkey); Montgomerie Links (Vietnam).

Did you know?

Born in Glasgow and educated in Perthshire, many of "Monty's" formative years were spent south of the border in Ilkley, Yorkshire, where his father was Secretary of Ilkley GC. His interest in golf finally prevailed over his cricketing skills, and were honed during four years at the Houston Baptist University in Texas. Crowned Rookie of the Year on the European Tour in 1988, Monty began a rapid golfing ascent, culminating in 1993 with the first of seven straight European Tour Order of Merit titles. A prolific collector of Ryder Cup points, Montgomerie came tantalisingly close on several occasions to capturing an elusive first major championship title on the regular tour. His breakthrough in the major championships came in 2014, when he won the US Senior PGA Championship by four shots from Tom Watson. Golf course design is now a key part of Montgomerie's busy world.
