Did you know?

Pavin attended the Iuniversity of California, Los Angeles before becoming a professional golfer in 1982. His success on the PGA Tour and other international tours, culminated in winning the U.S. Open in 1995 at Shinnecock Hills on Long Island. His 4-wood approach to the 18th green was a perfect way to complete the final round and claim a two shot victory over second-placed Greg Norman. The U.S. Open win did not however catapult Pavin to even greater achievements. His his next win in 1996 was then followed by a 10-year winless streak. A return to form in the mid-2000s saw him post a PGA Tour record for nine holes. His 8-under 26 was recorded on the front-nine of his opening round in the 2006 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. In 2010 Pavin began playing on the Champions Tour, the same year that he captained the USA Ryder Cup team at Celtic Manor in Wales.
