Did you know?

Lee Smith turned professional in 1977, just ahead of the establishment of the Women's Professional Golf Association Tour in 1978 (this British and Irish professional tour eventually transformed into the Ladies European Tour). Lee Smith joined the tour for its first year in 1979, finishing eighth on the money list that year. In 1980 she improved her position to third, and then won the Order of Merit in 1981 and 1982.
