Edfors turned professional in 1997 and plied his skills for several years on the second-tier Challenge Tour. Progression to the full European Tour came as a result of winning the season-long Challenge Tour rankings in 2003. Edfors most successful year was 2006; he won three events on the European Tour, including the British Masters and Scottish Open.

Played as the Quinn Direct British Masters (May 11-14). Second-placed Gary Emerson (Eng), Stephen Gallacher (Scot) and Jarmo Sandelin (Swe) finished 1 shot behind Edfors (Swe). [Brabazon course, The Belfry, Wishaw, nr Birmingham].

Played as the Barclays Scottish Open (July 13-16). Second-placed Luke Donald (Eng), Andrés Romero (Arg) and Charl Schwartzel (RSA) finished 2 shots behind Johan Edfors (Swe), who recorded his third European Tour win, all coming in 2006. [Loch Lomond GC, Luss, Dunbartonshire].

Played as the TCL Classic Sanya (March 16-19; Asian/Eurpn Trs event). Second-placed Andrew Buckle (Aus) finished 1 shot behind Edfors (Swe), who claimed his first win on both the European and Asian Tours. [Yalong Bay GC, Sanya, Hainan Island, China].
The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
