Edfors turned professional in 1997 and plied his skills for several years on the second-tier Challenge Tour. Progression to the full European Tour came as a result of winning the season-long Challenge Tour rankings in 2003. Edfors most successful year was 2006; he won three events on the European Tour, including the British Masters and Scottish Open.
