Did you know?

Pressel started playing golf at the age of eight, and four years later in 2001 became the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open (a record that was broken by Lexi Thompson). In 2003 her mother died of breast cancer, at which time Pressel moved in with her grandparents Herb & Evelyn Krickstein (the parents of former top-10 professional tennis player, Aaron Krickstein).

In 2005, having already won the US Women's Amateur championship, Morgan Pressel almost became the youngest winner of the U.S. Women's Open. Aged 17 and still an amateur, she came second and narrowly missed out by two shots to Birdie Kim of Korea.
