Roll of Honour

Senior MAJORS (2): Snr PGA Championship (2012); US Snr Open (2012). English Amateur champion (1979). Walker Cup player (1981). Multiple wins on the European Tour (1), Sunshine Tour (1), European Senior Tour and Champions Tour. European Senior Tour Order of Merit (2012).

Did you know?

Chapman enjoyed a distinguished amateur career. He won the English Amateur title in 1979, and represented GB&I in the Walker Cup in 1981, beating Hal Sutton twice in one day. On turning professional in 1981 he gained his European Tour card from Q-school at the first attempt.

Chapman waited almost 20 years for his first and only European Tour win, which came in Brazil on his 472nd tour start. The following year, at the 2001 Portuguese Open he recorded his 500th European Tour appearance.

After turning 50 in 2009, Chapman recorded two senior major championship victories in 2012. In the US Senior Open of that year, he left an impressive quartet of former major winners trailing two shots back in second place; the runners-up were Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin and Fred Funk.
