Did you know?

Taking his family name from his German-born father Stefan, Alexander "Xander" Schauffele comes from an accomplished sporting family. His father could have competed at the Olympic Games in track and field, had it not been for a life-changing accident in his early-twenties. Amongst Xander's ancestors are two football (soccer) stars, who played at the highest club level in Germany and Austria.

After enjoying an excellent amateur career, which included wins in the California State High School Championship and California State Amateur Championship, Schauffele turned professional in 2015. After playing a full season on the second-tier Web.com Tour, he moved up to the full PGA Tour in 2017, finishing the year with two wins and the Rookie of the Year award.
